NFL Wildcard Weekend Preview

By Scott Burks
The NFL Playoffs
are finally here (sans my Steelers)! Here is how I see the NFL's
Wildcard weekend shaping out...
NFC
Green Bay
Packers at Arizona Cardinals. The Packers are one of my two
sleeper teams in the playoffs. While QB Kurt Warner played barely a
quarter for the Cardinals last Sunday vs. Green Bay, the Packers looked
SCARY good. That momentum should carry the Packers past the Cardinals.
Packers 27, Cardinals 20.
Philadelphia
Eagles at Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles did not LOOK good at all in the
two games played against the Cowboys. Dallas was one the teams that
made Philly offense look really ordinary. Look for that trend to
continue and ...wait for it... pick up their first playoff win since 1996!
Cowboys 28, Eagles 13.
AFC
New York Jets
at Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals have lost three of their last
four games. They are hurting physically and mentally (the Chris Henry
death). That's not not good for a playoff-bound team. Meanwhile,
the Jets are my other sleeper team for a reason. They can run the ball
on anyone, and they play the nastiest defense of any team in the tournament.
Look for the Jets to continue their domination over the Bengals this
weekend. Jets 20, Bengals 10.
Baltimore
Ravens at New England Patriots. The Ravens caught a HUGE break (no
pun intended) when Patriots WR Wes Welker went down with a leg injury last
Sunday. Welker is arguably the Pat's most valuable offensive weapon
(outside of Tom Brady, of course). He serves as Brady's security
blanket and helps take the pressure of fellow WR Randy Moss. That,
coupled with the Ravens' running game and their nasty defense, should give
the Ravens the upset. Ravens 16, Patriots 14.
