Thoughts on the NFL's Divisional Round...

By Scott Burks
Here are my thoughts on the divisional round
of the NFL playoffs...
I guess the Indianapolis Cots were not rusty
after all.
As much as I hate to do this, I have to give the Colts credit for going out
and laying the wood to the Baltimore Ravens 20-3 last Saturday. While
I thought the Colts were a bit rusty on offense, it was their defense that
won the game for them. They shut down the vaunted Ravens running game,
and they made QB Joe Flacco look like a rookie again. The AFC
Championship game next Sunday will be a defense-lover's delight.
Speaking of which...
You've got to love the New York Jets!
As I said last week, I love this Jets team. I love their swagger.
I love their coach Rex Ryan's pompous attitude. I especially loved the
way they defeated the San Diego Chargers yesterday 17-14 on the road.
As a person who has New York City roots and family ties, I am proud to see
the Jets represent the NYC in the playoffs.
The Minnesota Vikings did NOT run up the
score on the Dallas Cowboys.
This is the NFL. People get paid on both sides of the ball to perform.
The Cowboys' defense was non-existent for most of the game, so they should
be mad at themselves instead of the Vikings for rubbing it in late in the
game. I laughed out loud when I saw LB Keith Brookings bitch on the
field and cry foul in a post-game interview. I mean, please!
You're better than that "Brook"! If you guys did not like seeing the
Vikings score late on you like that, TRY STOPPING THEM!
If the reports are true, I am really going to
miss Kurt Warner.
People say that Warner will retire in the coming days. If that's
true, I hated seeing Warner go out the way he did Saturday. During the
44-14 ass-whupping the Saints laid on his Cardinals, Warner got knocked
around like a rag doll. In fact, coach Ken Whisenhunt pulled Warner
out of the game late after the game was decided. It's a sad way to for
a future Hall of Famer to end his career.
