NFL Conference Championships Preview

By Scott Burks
Here is how I see the NFL's
version of "the Final Four" - the conference championships - shaping out...
NFC
Minnesota
Vikings
at New Orleans Saints. This is the game that everyone had been looking
forward to all season. Brett Favre vs. Drew Brees. The Saints
offense vs. the Vikings defense. The atmosphere in New Orleans should
present a challenge that Favre had never seen this season. The
Superdome crowd will be rocking, and the Vikings have been mediocre on the
road all season. Despite the Vikings strong defense, I expect Drew
Brees to come out firing early and often. Expect Saints safety Darren
Sharper and Co. to intercept Favre at least three times on their way to
their first Super Bowl... Saints 30, Vikings 20.
AFC
New York Jets
at Indianapolis Colts. This is the "Karma Game of the Year".
The Colts' tanked a game (and pissed on history) against the Jets in Week
16. Now those same Jets whom the Colts didn't put away are in Indy's
path to the Super Bowl. My favorite coach Rex Ryan is bumping his gums
again, saying that he'd be "shocked" if the Jets do not come out victorious.
Here's the deal: all the pressure is on the Colts. The Jets are
playing with house money -- and they know it. The Colts had to answer
a lot of questions since tanking the Jets game. Despite it all, I
expect the Colts to be victorious -- unfortunately. Colts 20, Jets 17.
