Redskins Should Put Zorn Out of His Misery

By Scott Burks
Jim Zorn is having a terrible week.
The Washington Redskins' head coach first had
to endure a loss last Sunday to the previous winless Kansas City Chiefs at
home. And that was AFTER the Redskins brought in Sherman Lewis, a
former offensive coordinator who was calling bingo games, as a consultant.
Now the team stripped Zorn of his play-calling duties and handed it over to
-- you guessed it -- the "bingo man".
Nothing says "let's support our embattled head
coach" like bringing in some old dude from a bingo parlor to take your job
as a play-caller. It's almost as if the Redskins are hoping Zorn will
quit on the spot. According to Hall of Fame wide receiver Steve
Largent, Zorn's former teammate in Seattle, he almost did.
Redskins owner Dan "Danny Boy" Snyder should
do the honorable thing and just fire Zorn's ass. We all know that Zorn
is not going to coach this team next year. We also know that his
players quit on Zorn. The Redskins should just get the inevitable over
and done with.
As for Danny Boy, he may have to revise his
formula for building and running a successful NFL franchise. I'll just
save that for a future rant...
